A user on the “Christianity” subreddit recently posted the following question:
Pastor said it is a sin to grieve over a loved one’s death as we will meet them soon in heaven. Hence there is no need for sadness: grief is in fact doubting God’s divine promise of eternal life. If we truly believe, we shouldn’t admit to feeling loss. How best to answer this?
Some questions require short answers:
He’s 100% wrong. The job title of pastor does not mean he is always right.
Jesus wept.
Jesus grieved the loss of loved ones.
Be like Jesus.
