According to a recent tweet, televangelist and convicted fraudster Jim Bakker is making some controversial claims about masks, and more importantly, God.
In a recent tweet, @DeaconBlues0 shares a recent quote from Bakker, stating that God won’t be able to hear your prayers if you’re wearing a mask:
It’s important as Christians to be critical of those in leadership when they share things that are not Biblical. These are the type of moments I struggle to read personally, because I know people use this as a basis to not take faith and Christianity seriously.
Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!
Psalm 66:20
Many have taken to twitter to criticize his claims regarding God and masks, and the responses are definitely making me laugh to keep from being angry over the unbiblical claims:
In 1989, Jim Bakker was indicted, imprisoned and convicted of numerous counts of fraud and conspiracy. When he was given back his freedom, he’s been trying to achieve the levels of fame and influence that he used to have decades ago.
Recently, he’s been criticized and sued for trying to sell a cure to the Coronavirus, as well as making claims that his “Miracle Blanket” that he’s selling with a $1,000 donation, can create more money if you simply put money in the piece of cloth:
