Plumber Discovers Cash, Checks in Walls of Joel Osteen’s Church

December 3, 2021

You may not remember this, but years ago Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church was robbed of hundreds of thousands of dollars that were taken from a safe.

That was over 7 years ago.

Now, a plumber has come forward saying he found hidden money in the walls while doing work on the church on November 10th, 2021.

According to Click2Houston, the news came to light during a local radio morning show:

There was a loose toilet in the wall, and we removed the tile, We went to go remove the toilet, and I moved some insulation away and about 500 envelopes fell out of the wall, and I was like ‘Oh wow!’ I went ahead and contacted the maintenance supervisor that was there, and I turned it all in

George Lindsay, host of The Morning Bullpen was shocked: “We were like, ‘What are you talking about?’ So, then he relayed to us that in 2014 there was a big story about money being stolen from Lakewood Church that they never recovered.”

The robbery case from 2014 is still an open investigation, but this discovery of what could be the missing money could produce more leads, or more questions.

A representative from Lakewood Church acknowledged cash and checks were found at the facility during repairs.
