Hailey Bieber is Sick of Judgmental Christians: “This Is What Turns People Off From Church”

In a recent interview with Yvonne Orji, Hailey Bieber opens up about her faith, sex, and her experience with Christians. Her faith has taken more of an importance in the life of her and her husband, Justin Bieber, and she is not backing down from her strong opinions on Christianity.
Bieber has been frequently criticized by Christians for her Instagram photos, which sometimes include photos of her wearing a bathing suit, or modeling photos showing off her body. Bieber started to notice something about the people who would criticize her:
If I end up seeing a comment thats like … “You’re a *****” and then I click on their page and it’s like:
“Mom of Four, Philippians 4:13, Married, Wife, God Fearing Woman”
I’m just like…this is what turns a lot of people off I believe from church.
Formerly Hailey Baldwin, daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, the YouTuber and model married Justin Bieber in November 2018 and the pair has been spotted regularly attending Hillsong church. Being a Christian in the spotlight has caused Bieber to second guess whether she should be posting photos of herself that may be more revealing:
I’ve met Christian people who are super judgmental and make me feel like a bad person because I’m not living my life the way they think I should live my life.
I felt weird about posting certain photos of myself, like people in the church are going to see this. Am I setting a bad example? The reality is…no
Bieber also expressed her frustrations with how the church and evangelicals talk about sex:
The way I was brought up was like ‘you’re not gonna have sex until you’re married…because the Bible says ‘don’t’

As for how her faith plays a role in her marriage, Bieber was clear with what she feels is the most important part of her relationship:
They ask me all the time, they’re like “What would you say is the biggest thing in your relationship? You guys are really happy!”
Its our faith, it’s what we believe in…if we didn’t have that, we wouldn’t be together.
